A scene with a fight or a fight makes the film very spectacular and spectacular. But at the same time it adds trouble to the film crew. In this article you will learn about some of the “secrets” of staged scenes.
Films with fights began to be shot from the first years of the birth and development of cinema. The first such film was the picture of Edward Maybridge “Two Boxers". Of course, she was far from being reliable, but even then the viewer was unassuming. But now it is almost impossible to understand that the fight in the frame did not actually happen. How does it work out?
The first thing that actors who star in such a scene are obliged to do is to act out reactions to a blow as reliably as possible - to recoil, pull back their head or arm, bend after a “blow” to the abdomen, run away or fall. It all depends on what task the “fighters" are facing.
Not only the body, but also the face of the actor should “work”. It is clear that the actors do not really beat. But the emotions on the face should be such that the viewer believes in the reality of the injury.
Filming of such scenes is always conducted from certain angles. And this is not accidental: even a novice operator knows from which point to show that there was no blow, and from which point to create the complete illusion of a full-fledged fight. For example, if a blow to the face is removed from the side, it will be shown from the back of the “victim”. Even a very attentive viewer at this angle will not notice that there was actually no blow, and the actor just jerked his head back in time.
Sometimes the blows are actually inflicted, and very sensitive. But the actors are not afraid of them, because they wear special equipment for this - shields and protective vests, invisible under their clothes. Of course, the actors are still prepared in advance for such a shoot. And, of course, a magical angle!
Kicks “came into fashion” with the popularization of martial arts. It's really a spectacular sight. But most often such attacks are not very high, and the operator simply removes the participants of the scene from a certain point to create the desired effect.
