The most popular acting systems
Acting is not only and not so much inspiration and improvisation. This is daily work, working out the role, image, practice based on the works of great teachers and creators of theatrical art. Today we will talk about some of the most famous and popular acting systems.

The first in this list will be, of course,Stanislavsky system. This is a kind of foundation on which more modern systems and techniques are based one way or another. Its essence consists in “living the role". In other words, the actor should not just play the role assigned to him, but get used to it, feel it, try on the existence and character of the character. The performer of the role in this case will have a difficult task. After all, it is very difficult to understand the depth and meaning of a person's actions on the basis of several replicas.

One of the closest associates of K.S. Stanislavsky was Nikolai Vasilyevich Demidov. They have worked together for over thirty years, and Demidov he was considered one of the leading experts on the Stanislavsky system. Although over time, he began to point out to the teacher some of the shortcomings of the system and suggest innovations. They were partially accepted, but some were rejected, for example, “etude technique". It was she who formed the basis of the Demidov system. Its essence is as follows: Demidov claimed that after the actor studies the play, an image of the future role already exists in his subconscious, as a vague premonition of it. The creative intuition of the performer helps him to feel the rhythm and atmosphere of the future artistic image.

The following method, named after its creator Sanford Meisner, It is based on the Stanislavsky system. The basic rule of the method is: “actors must live truthfully in imaginary circumstances.” That is, to react to the environment as if the situation were actually happening. By the way, Hollywood stars like Diane Keaton and Tom Cruise prefer to work according to the Meissner system.

Stanislavsky 's system inspired and Lee Strasberg, who developed the ideas of the great Russian director and teacher. The Strasberg method helps in training imagination and emotions, which, in turn, contribute to recreating a real atmosphere and truthful behavior. This technique is used by Dustin Hoffman, Angelina Jolie and Scarlett Johansson.

Stella Adler - a student of Stanislavsky himself. Adler's system is based on his works and Strasberg's developments. Its peculiarity is the connection of imagination to an emotional response. Stella Adler wrote the famous “Game Guide”, where she outlines the basic principles of the methodology. And among the followers of the Adler system are such famous actors as Marlon Brando, Robert de Niro, Melanie Griffith, whose realism of the game is noted by many critics.

It is impossible not to mention the system Mikhail Chekhov, another student of Stanislavsky and the nephew of Anton Chekhov. She is distinguished by a psychophysical approach to acting: with full concentration on the mind and body, as well as with awareness of feelings and emotions. Many Western actors studied under Chekhov's system, including Anthony Hopkins and Jack Nicholson.

Uta Hagen Technique - this is the principle of complete realism and truth in everything. According to her, actors should use their own life experience, as well as memories and emotions associated with it, to work out scenes.

Technic Viola Spolinit also has a second name - “Theatrical games". This is a system of exercises based on improvisation and spontaneity. According to Spolin, every actor should live in the moment and react to circumstances as it would be in real life, in a sudden and ill-conceived situation.
Of course, there are much more acting systems and techniques - only the most famous and in-demand ones are listed here. Their effectiveness is unconditional: after all, a huge number of screen and theater stars have used and are using these techniques in their work.
