Stamp on stamp: the most hackneyed movie clips in the world
Don't go on!
Sometimes the audience likes a movie or a TV series so much that they start demanding a sequel. Or they don't start, but the producers hope to repeat the success and shoot a sequel.
This venture always carries high risks. It happens that the continuation turns out to be quite worthy, or even surpasses the previous project. So, for example, it happened with the film “Terminator”. The second part not only repeated the success of the first, but also scored much more positive ratings from viewers and critics.
But sometimes the sequel is so nightmarish that their creators probably want to rewind time and not start shooting at all. This happened with the films “Jaws-3” and “Jaws - 4". The first two parts were a resounding success with the public. But then directors Joe Elves and Joseph Sargent decided to repeat the success of Steven Spielberg. The projects turned out to be failures, full of the grossest mistakes and blunders. “Jaws-4”, for example, they received a zero rating on the Rotten tomatoes website.
Who doesn't know a thriller “Basic instinct” with the gorgeous Sharon Stone in the title role? It was such a huge success that the producers found it necessary to make a sequel. However, an unsuccessful script copying the original plot, the inability to recreate the atmosphere of powerful sexual tension between the characters that distinguishes the first film, led to failure. The sequel was nominated for the Golden Raspberry in seven nominations. In four of them he received the main prize. And seventeen days after the release, the film was completely removed from the rental.

Films based on the Batman comic book series are guaranteed to attract the attention of the public. But “Batman and Robin”, filmed in 1997, it broke all imaginable anti-records, receiving as many as ten nominations for the Golden Raspberry Award. And the audience vote, organized by Empire magazine, recognized the picture as the worst in the history of cinema. Even the star cast - Arnold Schwarzenegger, Uma Thurman and George Clooney - could not help the case.
The mystical horror film “The Exorcist of the Devil” is considered the scariest picture of all existing. However, the sequel, filmed in 1977, turned out to be extremely unsuccessful. Director John Boorman failed to repeat the oppressive atmosphere and psychologism that distinguished the 1973 film. The public “voted with their wallet“ and "The Exorcist-2” failed at the box office.

We have already mentioned the success of the first two parts of “Terminator”, which have become classics of cinema. But here 's the sequel“Terminator: Genesis” no luck. The hopes of the public were shattered. Rotten Tomatoes gave only 26% positive reviews for the new product, and critics called the sequel “a dull repetition of what was passed.” But most of all the comments were caused by the game of Emilia Clarke - a young Sarah Connor. She couldn't even get close to the image created by the brilliant Linda Hamilton.

And, finally, the most unsuccessful continuation of the comedy “Mask" - “Son of the Mask” (2005). By the way, Jim Carrey refused to star in a new project and did the right thing. More than 90% of the critics' reviews were negative, but that's half the trouble. The film, which was spent over $ 80 million to create, collected a little more than 50 worldwide, which can be considered a failure.
