How to develop a voice with weak vocal data?
A lot has already been said about how important vocal data is for actors. But what to do if you have a weak voice by nature? Give up? Not at all. The good news is that the voice can be developed, although, of course, this will require time, responsibility and stability in the classroom.
Having made a decision about vocal lessons, it is necessary, first of all, to decide: for what reason does your voice sound weak and expressionless? There can be many reasons: an undeveloped musical ear, bodily clamps, a psychological barrier, improper breathing. If you define the problem, then the solution comes after that. In order to develop a musical ear, there are solfeggio classes — initial vocal exercises without words. Physical and psychological clamps are removed by special psychotechnics, which can be consulted by a specialist in the field of psychology. There are also special techniques for breathing training. The most important thing is to make these classes permanent. One or two, even very strenuous workouts will not make the weather!
For a vocalist, it is extremely important to put the breath right right away. For vocals, diaphragmatic-lower-rib, that is, control of the air flow by the muscles of the diaphragm, is necessary. Do not think that such a manner of breathing is something complicated. In fact, it is with breathing with the help of the diaphragm that we are born. So, having learned to breathe in this way, we simply return to the natural, well-known, but slightly forgotten way.

It is better to do this under the guidance of a teacher (as well as, in principle, to practice vocals). Or, at least, watch tutorials, of which there are many on resources like youtube. In addition, breathing exercises according to the Strelnikova method, which many actors perform on a regular basis, are very useful.
Breathing techniques should open your self-preparation classes. Then you should apply a set of articulation exercises aimed at warming up the facial muscles. The next step is diction exercises — tongue twisters. And finally, the chants. You need to start with light chants, gradually complicating the task. It will be correct to record your vocal exercises, and then listen carefully and analyze, noting mistakes and, most importantly, successes and progress.

There are also a number of vocal exercises useful for beginning singers. For example, “Five vowels”, when, after taking a deep breath, you pull a vowel for a long time. For example, “and". Then “e", “a”, “o", “y". It is in the order described, it is very important! In this way, the muscles involved in the vocal process are best worked out. This “chanting" should be performed three times, standing, watching the posture.
A variant of the previous technique is the “Tarzan" exercise. It is performed similarly, but when singing vowels, you need to tap yourself on the chest — not much and very carefully! It must be performed standing up.
Before starting vocal lessons, it is useful to perform the exercise “Q-x”. It perfectly relaxes the vocal cords. Say the syllables “q-x” thirty times. On the syllable “q“, round your lips, and on ”x" — spread them into a wide smile.
An additional, but no less important step is to constantly improve your musical literacy. Listen to the best musicians and performers in different genres, note for yourself the peculiarities of their vocals and try especially favorite techniques. Of course, not the most difficult ones - they can be mastered only under the supervision of a teacher. Otherwise, you can completely lose your voice.
And remember: only hard daily work and strong motivation can work wonders and turn a naturally weak voice into an emotional and beautiful one.
